VENUE DESCRIPTION
At the heart of the rejuvenated city of Liverpool, the BT Convention Centre, part of Arena and Convention Centre Liverpool, marries cutting edge technology with unrivalled service levels. The iconic venue is synonymous with high profile events due to its design, adaptability and ability to seal the venue off, thereby creating a high security ‘campus’ site.
Two hours by train from London and in close proximity to the UK’s major air, road and rail infrastructure, the BT Convention Centre has played host to major political events, corporate conferences and international medical symposiums. Tech savvy design is complemented by the venue’s greatest asset: its people and the fierce pride they demonstrate in both the destination and their levels of service.
Repeat business is a true gauge of the venue; the National Association of Head Teachers will be returning to the venue in 2010, following a successful event in 2008. The Association of Teachers and Lecturers has contracted for 2011 and 2013 following the success of its four-day event for 500 delegates in early 2009. Representing a major coup for the city, Liverpool has been chosen as host destination for the International Society for the Scholarship of Teaching & Learning (ISSOTL) in 2010 whose events have only ever been held in America, Canada and Australia.
BT Convention Centre Liverpool jealously guards its green credentials which have enabled the venue to achieve the gold standard in the Green Tourism Business Scheme (GTBS) – the first convention centre in England to secure this status. Other awards include Confex 2008 & 2009’s Best UK Venue and Exhibition News’ ‘Most Effective Team’ 2009.
In-house caterers, Heathcotes Outside, provide food for all conferences with a nod towards tasty, organic local produce.
