The property, constructed around 1625, with major extensions in the 1990s. Mercure says the refurbishment has been sensitive to the character and original features of the hotel but also incorporates modern designs.

All 85 bedrooms in the hotel have now been upgraded to the Mercure 4-star standard.  The newly designed rooms have a contemporary look, with flat screen LCD TV’s, zip linked beds in most rooms and complimentary wifi.

The bathrooms have been fully tiled with a mixture of walk in showers and baths, using Grohe’s eco range and have utilised environmentally friendly design and products where possible.

The property has a purpose built conference and event space, which can cater for up to 240 delegates or guests and a dedicated team of event coordinators.  The hotel’s leisure facilities include a 20-metre indoor pool, two relaxation and beauty rooms, a sauna and steam room and a gym.

Andrew Hickling hotel manager, Mercure Letchworth Hall commented: “Mercure Letchworth Hall has now been transformed into a stylish space perfect for all types of guests. It is a fantastic building and it’s great to see such an investment creating a classic hotel with a contemporary feel.”
